Description

Noble pen shells in a field of seagrass. These bivalves are known also as fan mussels, and are found in the Mediterannean, reaching up to four feet in length! And, like so many beautiful things in the ocean, are close to extinction due to pollution, trawling, decline of seagrass beds, and anchoring of ships.
